SweetWater Brewing Company is a brewery in Atlanta, Georgia that helped put Southern craft beer on the map. Founded in 1997 by two friends fresh out of college, it grew from a scrappy Metro Atlanta startup into one of the largest craft breweries in the country — all while keeping its hop-forward, river-loving identity. The flagship SweetWater 420 Extra Pale Ale is a Georgia staple, and the sprawling taproom off Ottley Drive is a rite of passage for any Atlanta beer fan, with a packed events calendar and the brewery's signature 'Don't Float the Mainstream' attitude.
